2017 Rochester Ski Swap event and volunteer sign-up

  • When: Saturday, October 14, 2017 and Sunday, October 15, 2017

  • Contact: Dean Brandt, 507-990-2897

  • Location: Olmsted County Fairgrounds, 4H Building, Rochester, MN

  • Details: The Welch Village Ski Patrol is a partner, along with Coffee Mill Ski Patrol and Hiawathic Nordic Ski Patrol, in running the ski swap and sharing in the proceeds. The ski swap is much more than a fundraiser or ski sale; it is a service to the public and promotes skiing.

  • Volunteer to help: We are looking for volunteers to work this event.  The shifts are as follows. Sign up here

    • Saturday, October 14:

      • 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. - Check-in, setting up racks, unloading trucks, organizing items and paper work

      • 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. - Check-in until 2:00 p.m.  Doors open at noon. Sales, cashier area, security and paperwork.

      • 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. - Sales, cashier area, security and paperwork.

      • 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. - Sales, cashier area, security and paperwork.  Plus start sorting unsold items and check out first shop

    • Sunday, October 15

      • 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - Sort unsold items, general public checkout.

      • 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. - General public checkout and tear down racks.

General public sales are noon to 8:00 p.m. All patrollers who commit to at least one shift can bring their immediate family members in to shop before the doors open to the public. All pre-public sales need to be paid for by 11:30. If you are shopping, please sign up for a shift other than Saturday a.m. The biggest need for help is when the doors open at noon on Saturday, but all shifts need to be covered. This is a great chance to get bargains, see fellow patrols, and help out.
